What is a Chartered Physiotherapist?

Chartered Physiotherapists are university trained, registered with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and are experts in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sport and health and fitness.

What do I need to bring?

Be prepared to provide your previous medical or surgical history. If you have them and if they are relevant bring scan/MRI reports, and list of medication. You may wish to bring shorts and t-shirt.  The Physio will need to see the area involved, and so think about your choice of clothing to best allow this.

How many visits will I need?

The number of treatments will vary depending on the symptoms and diagnosis. After a thorough assessment, the physiotherapist will discuss the treatment plan for the rehabilitation process, which will include timescales for recovery and number of treatments that would allow the most effective recovery.  I do emphasise self-management with a big importance placed on you understanding your condition so that you will fully engage with the rehab.

How do I make an appointment?

You can get in touch by phone ( 086-2451430 ) or use the form under the contact page. Alternatively use the quick and easy online booking page.

Do I have to be referred by a doctor?

No, physiotherapists can assess and treat without referral by a doctor. However check with your health insurer if you require a doctors referral before they authorise cover of fees, some only require a phone call.

Treatment duration depends on your diagnosis, your past medical history, and other factors.  Re-evaluations will be done to assess your progress and you will be expected to play a big part in your own recovery through self-directed rehab.

Physiotherapy treats a wide range of conditions.  Please visit our Services for an extensive list of conditions and diagnoses we see patients for.

You should check with your health insurance provider to determine if outpatient chartered physiotherapy services are covered under your plan.

Please allow me 24 hours notice if you cant make your appointment.  A text or email is absolutely fine.
